 BRITISH CUISINE.
WHAT DO BRITISH EAT?

Hello! When learning a language it is also important to learn about the culture of the country which the language is from.
Today will learn about traditional British cuisine, its cultural importance, and common dishes.

If you ask fereigners to name some typically English dishes, they will probably think of Fish & Chips and then stop. It is dissapointing, but true. There is no  tradition in England of eating in restaurants. However, most British meals are cooked at home, so finding a good English restaurant can be difficult. Instead, British cities are full of Indian, Chinese, French, and Italian restaurants, and London even offers Mexican, Greek, and Indonesian food.

Some believe this means Britain has no real cuisine, but that’s not quite true. Traditional dishes like Sunday Roast, Shepherd’s Pie, and Full English Breakfast are still popular.

Let's watch these videos and compare British cuisine with local dishes.

And now do the quiz.

Mach the name of the dish with the correct picture.

Watch this video and find out what British people like eating.
